Rossi Donesky
Upper Camp Counselor
My name is Rossitza Skortcheva Donesky. I’ve been a teacher at Moses Brown and RISE Camp for 5 years, and before that I was a college professor at Rhode Island School of Design, University of Connecticut and Massachusetts College of Art. I’m artist and educator who has illustrated over 40 books for adults and children. My work has been featured in publications such as 3x3 Magazine, Communication Arts, Ontario Arts Council, the Color and Form Society of Canada and the current issue of American Illustration Annual #40. Every year I look forward to meeting talented and enthusiastic campers! My favorite course I’ve taught in recent years has been journal making, a workshop spanning over many weeks that weaves handcrafting with narrative storytelling. Reading all the wonderfully creative stories my students create and getting a glimpse into their world has been a cherished part of my time at RISE. I can’t wait for another great year!
