Discover the foundations of contemporary and modern dance with Fluid Form, a  5-week series, suitable for those of all movement backgrounds. Fluid Form is an exploration multi-planar movement in dance through an anatomical lens, where each week focuses on a different part of the body (i.e. Week 1: head & spine).

Moving at a slow, yet strong pace, each class begins with a focus on the floor, blending elements of yoga, somatic movement, and Pilates to help you soften and invite breath to the joints.  As we move off the floor, we'll build stability and fluidity through foundational dance exercises. The class will then become more dynamic: incorporating more locomotor movement and improvisation before concluding with a short, choreographed sequence that blends everything we’ve explored.

This series is intentionally designed to build resilience in the joints, increase flexibility and strength, and of course, invite the joy of dance into your movement practice. Each class ends with a period of rest and meditation.

Socks and long pants are suggested.

Weekly themes:
Week 1: Head & Spine
Week 2: Hands & Feet
Week 3:  Hips & Legs
Week 4: Shoulders & Arms
Week 5: Full Kinetic Chain (Blend)
