Luz Avila, Extended Day Teacher
Luz Avila has had over a decade of experience in education.
She holds a teaching degree from Casa Central School in Guatemala. Luz speaks Spanish and grew up in Guatemala where she worked for the first time as a teacher in a private school. She worked there for one year, and then worked in public school for 3 years before moving to the United States. Once in the United States she was a teachers aide at the William D’Abate School in an ESL program for adults. I then worked at a childcare center called My Kids and Company; at an after school program at the Paul Cuffee School and at Mothers Morning Out childcare.
She is a cat lover and enjoys taking care of her plants all year round!

Lo Bell, Coordinator of Extended Day
Lo is currently serving her second year as a Brown University VISTA Fellow with the Providence Public Library in the education as well as exhibitions and programs department. Prior to that she spent her first year in Providence helping to scale Generation Citizen’s Rhode Island civics education program to provide action-based civic education to a greater number of schools within our target populations of Providence, Pawtucket and Central Falls.
Lo graduated from Berea College with a BA in Communications and English Writing.

Lo enjoys reading, researching, writing, history, film/videography, teaching, learning and music. As well as activism, community building, community service, working with the youth, and empowering those who need support, love and allies.

Rossi Donesky, Extended Day Teacher
Rossi is an artist and educator who has illustrated over forty books for adults and children. She is the recipient of the prestigious American Illustration Award and she is listed among Who's Who in Bulgarian and Who's Who in Bulgarian Culture. She has received awards and recognition in Canada, Europe and the United States, including 3x3 Magazine, Communication Arts, Ontario Arts Council and the Colour and Form Society of Canada. Her work is included in both state and private collections in Europe and North America, including the National Gallery of Art of Bulgaria, and has been exhibited around the world - in Tokyo, Vienna, Amsterdam, Dordrecht, Turin, Barcelona and Mexico City.

Reenie Ferreira, Extended Day Teacher
Reenie Ferreira has been a member of the Moses Brown community for 35 years. She started work in the dining room as the cashier and assisted in the supervision of the students. She helped to open up the first Upper School snack area in what is now the Dwares Student Center. She later moved to be a part-time employee in the Lower School joining the Extended Day program. In addition to being a member of the Ex-Day team Reenie has spent many hours assisting in the Lower School office. She has been involved in RISE Camp ifor many years.She lives in Providence and enjoys family time with her husband Joe, their three children and five grandchildren.

Texas Trinity, Extended Day Teacher
Texas graduated from Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston in 2020. They moved to providence in 2022 after working for two years teaching art for kindergarten at an after school program in Boston. They have been working with kids in for over ten years doing things like face painting at kids parties, babysitting, or putting on events at their local library.

Kate Tompkins, Director of Summer and After School Programs
Kate has over 20 years of experience in education and summer programs. Prior to her start at Moses Brown in 2018, she worked with the summer program at Brown University, and spent 15 years at an overnight summer camp in Upstate NY.

Kate has a BA in Educational Studies from Colgate University, an M.Ed. in College Counseling and Student Affairs from the University of Delaware, and an Ed.D in Higher Education Administration from the University of Rochester.
Kate oversees Extended Day, MB After 3, Vacation Camps, and Summer Camps.
