Strings Camp At Moses Brown
Grades 5-12
Full Day: $850
Weeks: July 7-11 (9am-5pm with one evening until 9pm)

**$50 discount for children of NAfME members (members must provide us a picture of their membership card)
**$50 sibling discount (full price for 1 sibling, $50 off for each additional sibling)
Hosted on the Moses Brown School campus, the camp is open to all students of bowed string instruments entering grades 5-12 and offers a variety of high quality music courses, including string orchestra, small chamber ensembles, music history and theory classes, interactive workshops, concerts and activities, and guest performances. There will be one evening during the week (Wednesday 7/9) where students will stay for a faculty recital where we address concert etiquette and a social activity.
Campers must have their own orchestral string instrument (violin, viola, cello, or bass) and be comfortable reading music notation appropriate for their level.
Audition Information
Our Placement Audition Requirements will be emailed to you upon registration or request. Auditions are challenging, but they are an important component of a musician’s life. Please note that your placement audition is only meant to help assign you to the appropriate string orchestra and to be considered for placement into a chamber ensemble. Please take the audition seriously and perform your best. The auditions must be a video -- please place the camera so that we can see you, your instrument, and your hands/movement clearly.
You are allowed to take as many “takes” as you wish, and can submit your best performance to us via YouTube. You are allowed to upload separate video links for the scale requirement and solo selections.
Your audition should be submitted via an “unlisted” Youtube video. Please note that if you list your video as “private”, we will not be able to see it. You may also submit this video to us in Google Drive or Dropbox, but be sure that we will have access to it!
All auditions should be emailed or shared to echen@mosesbrown.org no later than Monday, June 16, 2025.
